2017: Time to Go Beautifully

This quote was given to me on a metal bookmark years ago and immediately captured me. These seven words have literally guided me through some very difficult times in my life, and almost always when I am wondering if I can, should, etc. this quotes some how finds me again and I am reminded that I can do anything… even if that means fail!

Well, it is official… I have joined the world of blogging and to be completely honest, I am terrified! This fear has kept me from doing this very thing that I am doing right now, writing so you and the rest of the world can access my thoughts, feelings, and most intimate details of my life. What if I don’t say everything just right… with perfect grammar (former English teacher here after all), enough humor, or authenticity without being too much or too little… what if I get a rude comment or not any comments at all? It’s taken me months to convince myself to be brave enough for this moment.

So why blog? Why take the risk of humiliation or worse… failure?

Because that is who I am and who I mentored hundreds of young women to be during my eleven years of coaching high school drill teams. I encouraged them every day to give their best, work extremely hard, never give up, fall down ten times and get up eleven… to be disciplined, to be strong, to be beautiful from the inside out, to love, and to believe in themselves. I would be a hypocrite if I didn’t take my own advice.

My vision for this blog and site is to create a space where I can speak to you and with you… I want to share experiences and hope to build a community of people that want to help spread beauty as well. I hope we can find our authentic selves and maybe, just maybe become a movement… a force for good!

To celebrate this brave moment in my life, I have teamed up with one of my incredible friends and jewelry designers to bring to my site an exclusive Go Beautifully gold bar necklace that I will give away to one lucky winner! Did you know that gold is related to illumination as well as the color yellow which is the color of sunshine? aaaaand…. sunshine is associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy. These are all of the elements behind my “why.” So… it is absolutely fitting to give a way a beautiful gold bar necklace… strong, beautiful, and illuminated!

I’am allways worried about what people will think of Me,and i’am not worthy of the things I receive.I have allways enjoyed with all my heart to do for people, but have a hard ^ime receiving .I I know if I will take in everything you will have on your blog,i can change how I really feel,, i know when i’am around people they don’t see me as the waek person i feel that i’am. I was married for 56 years and now I feel that love that i had from him before his passing is gone even i know i have all of my family love me? I may let myself learn how to really love myself. Thank you Chandra for listening. This just is a message for you.

  • Bruja

Grateful that you have taken this step forward in your life, Chandra. Even though I don’t really know you, I know that you are blessed with family and friends who love you and care about your success. May I just say something you probably already know? That is, when you are headed in any direction in your life, and you bump up against that invisible barrier…. the one that makes you break out in a sweat, the one that makes your hands shake and gives you that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach… that is your ego speaking limitations and fear. When you bump up against that…. it means you’ve only got to take ONE MORE STEP, to push through it and suddenly you can breathe freely again – the world is so.much brighter, opportunity throws open the doors, all because you have faced and overcome that fear. Bless your steps on this new journey….may they be filled with insight and courage. Open you wings, and soar!!!
